    2025 Kickstart Orientation Options:


    Kickstart Orientation - Friday, July 11, 2025

    Join us for our on-campus Summer Kickstart Orientation event. Orientation will help prepare you for everything Alfred University has to offer both in and out of the classroom. You'll get to know your classmates, professors and the staff and become more familiar with the University. You will receive your class schedule and other important information about all the necessary steps you need to take before beginning your journey as a student here.

    If you cannot make any of our orientation sessions due to time or distance from campus, please contact the Advising Office via email advising@alfred.edu or via phone at 607-871-2949 for alternate virtual options after our on-campus events. If you do not attend one of our mandatory orientation sessions in July, you will receive an email with virtual options at that time.



    Before Orientation:

    Before you arrive at Orientation, make sure you have taken care of your deposited checklist items:

    1. Activate Campus Email Address
      All students have access to the University's computer network and receive an Alfred University email account. The first step after depositing is to set-up your campus email account. Use the link here to gain access to your AU email. Put in your Alfred University email, solve the captcha, and then it will use Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) to reset the password. The MFA on your account will be set to the phone number and/or the personal email address you used when applying. All AU communications will be sent to your new student email address so be sure you have access to check it often or get notifications. If you are having any difficulties, please contact ITS at 607-871-2222.
    2. Complete your Financial Responsibility Form
    3. Complete your Pre-Registration Form
      You will receive an email with your pre-registration form from your Academic Success Coach. Please complete it at your earliest convenience.
    4. Submit Required Health Forms
      Alfred University has a Health & Wellness Center right on campus. Learn more about the required Health Forms, Health Insurance and Immunizations needed before enrolling as a student.
    5. Registering for Classes
      Prior to your arrival at orientation, the Center for Advising staff will build your class schedule. You’ll have a chance to ask questions about or make changes to your class schedule during orientation. If you have questions before orientation, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help!
    6. Complete your Housing Form 
      Alfred University offers students several distinct living styles and communities. All new student residence halls are co-ed by floor. In addition, 5 living learning communities are available for students to choose from. Check your Alfred University email for instructions on how to sign up!
    7. Submit Required Transcripts AP/College Credit
      If you've taken AP courses or earned college credits, please request to have official score reports and transcripts sent to the Registrar's Office in order for courses to be evaluated for credit. First time college students also need to have a final high school transcript sent to the Registrar’s Office as soon as you graduate.
